                                        Spatial Blueprint of the USSR

17" x 12" x 0.5"
Balsa Wood, Thread, Ink.

Kazakhstan is a country in Central Asia that used to be part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. After the collapse of Soviet Union, Kazakhstan declared itself fully independent public on December 16, 1991.

I used the yurt to represent country of Kazakhstan, then I used the elements of the Kazakhstan Flag such as flying eagle under the sun and painted on the top of the yurt that creates a focal point of the blueprint. The size of the yurt and specific place represent the Kazakhstan republic compared to Russian Federation which I painted as the Russian Flag. The blue balsa strips represent the rivers that cross the border of Kazakhstan/Russia. The same is true for the railroad form.
