Cabinet of Curiosity

"It would have been used by the owner to store works of art and rare objects, and it forms a work of art in itself. The cupboard features olive veneer applied in geometric motifs to oak. The interior is surprisingly decorated with mirrors into which various scenes have been engraved. On the drawers are images of ships and on the outside of the doors are the goddess and god of love, Venus and Cupid. This example was probably made in the Northern Netherlands between 1675 and 1700."
